Exciting Day!

Today was an exciting day. All was well until 2 pm when Kaleb called crying, "Mom, you're gonna be mad." Uh, why? "Johnathan got hurt mom and he is bleeding and you need to come home!" So I race out the door, fly home and get in to see Johnathan sitting on the couch. He has blood running down his arm. I quickly clean him up so I can assess the damage. Turns out it is one little cut, that bled profusely. So I took him to my work and got a steri-strip put on it. So all is well now. Except for the fact of how he got hurt. Turns out, Kaleb and Hannah locked him downstairs, and he got upset and started banging on the door. Yep, the glass on the door. Well, he banged enough that he broke it. So now we have a door to replace. Or actually, the kids have a door to replace. They are grounded until they can afford to replace it. Well, maybe tomorrow will be a calmer day! Until then... oh! Happy Birthday T! Hope its a fun one!

All Done!

Whew! All the parent/teacher conferences are over. It went pretty well. Kaleb's was first, and he is doing well, talks too much, but that's about it. Hannah is doing well, but talks too much. Johnathan is doing well, and talks too much! Ha! I see it runs in the family! Actually it did go really well. Kaleb is the top of the reading class on his books read, I don't know if I would have time to read that many books. Hannah got here test scores back from the end of the year state test. She scored advanced on all of it. And last but not least, Johnathan tested out of speech! Tomorrow is Friday finally, though I have no big plans, it is nice to know the weekend is coming! Maybe I can talk Josh into a haunted house this weekend! He is not much on haunted houses, but I did get him in one. Once. Well, until my next break....

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Well, its that time of year where we get to go to school and find out how our children behave behind our backs. Kalebs is tonight and the other two will be on Thursday night. I'm not too concerned about Kaleb's he is talkative, but he makes up for that with being book smart. Well, come to think of it all of my kids are talkative. Hopefully this one will go down smooth, as I hate going in there and learning how disruptive they are. (Hannah had a rough k-garden year. ) In middle school, which is for the 5th and 6th graders, they have student lead conferences. Yep thats right they get to go with us to tell us of all the great things they are doing. They are also there if the teacher talks about bad behavior. The part I don't agree with is that if they are behind or not doing socially well the kids will also be there for that too. I dont have a social problem with any of my kids, and two of them don't struggle to learn, but one of mine struggles with speech, and with that goes reading. He is in speech and getting tutoring, but I wouldn't want him to have to hear from his teacher and his Mom that he is behind also. Of course, he is only in the first grade so he has a long time before this day comes for him, but I cant help but wonder about the other kids. Well, I guess that is my gripe for the day. Maybe later I will get on here and tell you good things...if not see you tomorrow:)

Jacked Up Jack-O

Well, this weekend was quite a weekend. I had to work, but lots went on anyways. I still haven't gotten out my Halloween stuff. ~Bad Mommy~ I know. I had to work. lol. Well Johnathan went to spend the night with his grandparents (paternal) for the first time. He normally goes to my parents house, but this was a special occasion. It's Halloween time! Every year they take one of the kids home at this time of year and the do all kinds of fun stuff. They totally sugared him out. He managed to go through 2 gallons of chocolate milk in a weekend by himself! Not to mention the puddings, jellos, and oreos! Notice that all of those are plural! Well he also got to hunt and earn some money and ride 4 wheelers. Oh what fun! But the best thing of all is Scary. Why scary you ask? Scary is the name of our new pumpkin. Designed by Johnathan himself. If I can figure out how to add a picture of him I will. On another (sour) note. my doctor put me on a diet. Uggh! So, I decied that my soda pop needs to go.. bye my beloved coke, I will miss you. I will be exercising nightly from now on too.(atleast that is the plan!) On a different note, the kids are fighting like cats and dogs today. Hannah keeps calling Kaleb's teacher Piggy instead of Peggy. Johnathan is pretty mellow today after the sugared up weekendso all is good there. Dinner is almost done and then we are going to whisk Hannah off to gymnastics, so maybe that will slow down the fighting. Oh, one more tidbit before I go, Johnathan is watching T.V. and we have Dish on Demand. I can't live with out the stuff now. Well there is a commercial on about some motorcycle toy. Johnathan pauses the tv and asks "Mom where is the phone? There is a number here I want to call." He is six. So I explain that when you call that number they want the $89.95 + s&h sent to them for payment. Ok he says and off he goes. He comes back with a container full of coins and tells me he is ready. And its ONLY Monday.... until next time..

Well I did it...

I have officially started my first blog. Who knows if this is something I will continue, or just something new to try. This grand idea to do this was not entirely my own. Yep, that's right, I am a copy cat. My sister has talked about starting a blog, I don't know if she has or not. But, my cousin has one, and I virtually spent the night on the computer last night "catching" up. It has been atleast 9 years since I have last seen her or talked to her. We were the best of friends growing up, then in high school we really just went our own ways. Never rude (I don't think) but separated. Well, as you know times change all. and after reading her blog I realize in a lot of ways we are still alike and in many others we are very different. For example, She hates Chucky Cheese and so do I. ( I have 3 kids who have never been.) I think it is a very nasty place. But on the other hand, not only do words flow more naturally to her than me, but she is also very much a food critic. Ha not me! I don't like to try new invented things. I like stuff like burgers and tacos. nothing extravagant. Reading through her list, I kept thinking WTF is that? and that? Have lots of new foods to look up now. Who knows maybe I will try something? We also have a picture taking problem, I think my kids are beginning to hate my camera, I love to catch their every moments! Well, I will sign off for now. I need to see what adventures await me today!
